Art and Nature
In 2019, Monica participated in a bioplastic workshop with Materiom at STEAMhouse in Birmingham. This inspired loads of experimentation during lockdown, which she took back to the classroom. Based on her research, she designed a workshop for students- making small ‘bioplastic’ pots from sawdust (gathered from the DT workshop), agar and glycerin. Students then painted them (lightly, so as not to disintegrate!) with non-toxic tempura paints.
We can design bespoke workshops that work in collaboration with the natural environment. Perfect for forest schools or youth clubs, we can make charcoal over the fire, paint with botanical inks, or create cyanotype leaf prints, and more.
