Re-Imagining Victoria

From Jan-Jun 2022, working as an Associate Artist with Ikon gallery in Birmingham, Monica led an after school art club with students at the Small Heath Leadership Academy in response to the public Hew Locke commission, ‘Foreign Exchange.’ She also facilitated workshops at primary schools across Birmingham. The culmination of which led to a Schools Showcase at Ikon gallery. This public art installation and learning outreach was supported by Arts Council England, National Lottery Heritage Fund, Henry Moore Foundation as well as the Ikon Investment Fund and was unveiled as part of the Birmingham 2022 Festival and Commonwealth Games. Additionally, she designed learning resource packs for KS1-KS4, providing students with further opportunity to investigate the work of Hew Locke.
